We announce that our latest version of XClone 4.1.0 will be delivered under the open source GPLv3 license to show our committment to open standards and transparency.


As part of this announcement, we're providing the full Java source code available to download on our website from the community page.

XClone becomes RAC / RAW compliant - this new functionality built into our base product will be available for general release by the end of this year. If you have a genuine need or a seroius interest in this functionality then please let us know and we can arrange to call you and tell you more about it! We will also be demonstrating this new and exciting functionality at both the HEUG and IOUG trade shows in early 2007.

Its been a while since we last shared our news with you - and this is in part becuase we have been busy developing new ideas for our product and helping our customers gain the maximum benefit from our technology.

But we have lots of things coming up soon, including: formal release of XClone beta version 4.0 which will be available for download at the end of May 2006.

Babboo has signed a distributor agreement with Confor Informatica, winner of the 'Oracle Open World Best Performance Partner' award for 2001 and best project for e-government at the Oracle Partner Day in 2004.

The agreement gives Confor a unique opportunity to distribute XClone across the following 4 countries: France, Germany, Italy and Switzerland. www.confor.it.

- The results of the survey taken at the IOUG prove very interesting reading:

* We found that 80% of respondent’s companies produce clones and of that number, 90% use scripts or clone manually. Of those that clone, 96% have issues where the cloning process negatively impacts their business.

* 60% of companies take an average of 2-5 DBA days per month to clone their environments.

Oracle World

At Oracle World in San Francisco, Babboo launched version 2.0 of XClone. The event was a great success for all who attended, mixing just the right amount of networking, product information, technical updates, corporate positioning and fun --- and that was just on the bus-ride from the airport! The exhibit hall was full of exciting technology, providing just how vibrant the Oracle community is, even in a slow economy. And of course, there was nothing else like XClone there.
