XClone is a tool that allows Oracle databases and applications environments to be configured within a single interface (the client) and to be cloned at the touch of a button by XClone Server. Written almost fully in Java, XClone makes use of the standard 1.4.2 Java API, Hibernate for object persistence and HSQLDB for object storage.

XClone is now open source, as licensed under the GPLv3 and we invite the DBA community to download, modify and make use of the publicly available source code free of charge. We want to build up a community around XClone and to encourage developers to submit bug fixes and feature enhancements so that we may consider including them in future releases.
